World Fantasy Awards 2011

An die­sem Wochen­en­de wur­den sie auf der World Fan­ta­sy Con­ven­ti­on in San Die­go ver­ge­ben: die World Fan­ta­sy Awards 2011. Bes­ter Roman wur­de WHO FEARS DEATH von der hier­zu­lan­de wei­test­ge­hend unbe­kann­ten Nne­di Oko­ra­for. Nne­di Oko­ra­for ist die Toch­ter zwei­er Igbo-Immi­gran­ten aus Nige­ria, hat einen Ph. D. in Eng­lisch und ist Pro­fes­sor für krea­ti­ves Schrei­ben an der Chi­ca­go Sta­te Uni­ver­si­ty. Ihr bei DAW erschie­ne­ner Roman WHO FEARS DEATH ist eine dys­to­pi­sche Beschrei­bung Nord­afri­kas in der Zukunft.

Zwei­mal aus­ge­zeich­net (ein­mal als Novel­la und ein­mal als Kurz­ge­schich­te) wur­den Geschich­ten aus der Antho­lo­gie Sto­ries: All-New Tales, die unter ande­rem von Neil Gai­man her­aus gege­ben wurde.
