Netflix: MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE-Animationsserie von Kevin Smith
Es gibt ein Wiedersehen mit He-Man und den MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, und natürlich ist mal wieder Netflix beteiligt. Die bewerfen Nerd-Ikone Kevin Smith mit Geld, damit der eine neue Animationsserie zum Thema macht, die das Ganze dort weiter führen soll, wo es in den 1980ern beendet wurde. Das soll dann MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION heißen.
Smith wird als Showrunner und ausführender Produzent der Show agieren, die als »limited series« angekündigt wurde, also mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht endlos laufen wird sondern nur über eine Staffel, vielleicht zwei. Smith sagte zum Projekt:

Die Animation machen Powerhouse Animation (CASTLEVANIA), Mattel Television produziert für die ist Rob David der ausführende Produzent. Autoren der Serie sind Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Tim Sheridan (Reign Of The Supermen), Diya Mishra (Magic: The Gathering) und Marc Bernardin (Alphas).
Einen Starttermin gibt es noch nicht. Die Serie hat nichts mit dem neuen Kinofilm zu tun, der nach zahllosen Problemen 2021 endlich in die Kinos kommen soll.
