The Wild Robot

Es steht mal wie­der ein Ani­ma­ti­ons­film von Dream­works an. Dies­mal geht es um einen Robo­ter, der auf einer abge­le­ge­nen Insel schiff­brü­chig wird, der Titel lau­tet THE WILD ROBOT. Die offi­zi­el­le Inhalts­an­ga­be liest sich wie folgt:

The epic adven­ture fol­lows the jour­ney of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is ship­w­re­cked on an unin­ha­bi­ted island and must learn to adapt to the harsh sur­roun­dings, gra­du­al­ly buil­ding rela­ti­onships with the ani­mals on the island and beco­ming the adop­ti­ve parent of an orpha­ned gosling.

In den Haupt­rol­len von The Wild Robot spie­len die Oscar-Preis­trä­ge­rin Lupi­ta Nyon­g’o (Us, Black Pan­ther) als Robo­ter Roz, Pedro Pas­cal (The Last of Us, The Man­dalo­ri­an) als Fuchs Fink und Cathe­ri­ne O’Ha­ra (Schitt’s Creek, Best in Show) als Opos­sum Pink­tail; Bill Nig­hy (Living, Love Actual­ly) als Gans Long­neck; Kit Con­nor (Heart­stop­per, Rocket­man) als Gän­se­kü­ken Bright­bill und Ste­pha­nie Hsu (Ever­y­thing Ever­y­whe­re All at Once, The Fall Guy) als Von­tra, ein Robo­ter, der Roz’ Plä­ne auf der Insel durch­kreuzt. Wei­te­re Spre­cher des Films ist die Pop­kul­tur-Iko­ne Mark Hamill (Star Wars-Fran­chise, The Boy and the Heron), Matt Ber­ry (What We Do in the Shadows, The Spon­geB­ob Movie-Fran­chise) und der Gol­den Glo­be-Gewin­ner Ving Rha­mes (Mis­si­on: Impos­si­ble-Fil­me, Pulp Fic­tion).

Regie führt Chris San­ders nach einem Dreh­buch von ihm, basie­rend auf dem Roman von Peter Brown. Es pro­du­ziert Jeff Her­mann, aus­füh­ren­der Pro­du­zent ist Dean DeBlois.

Im US-Kino star­tet der Ani­ma­ti­ons­film am 20 Sep­tem­ber 2024, bei uns schon am 12. Sep­tem­ber.
