Strange And Norrell

Die BBC stellt ein ers­tes Pro­mo-Foto zu ihrer Serie nach dem Buch JONATHAN STRANGE & MR. NORRELL von Susan­na Clar­ke vor. Der Roman hat­te 2004 den Hugo Award, den World Fan­ta­sy Award und den Locus Award für das bes­te Erst­lings­werk gewonnen.

Auf dem Pro­mo­fo­to sieht man Ber­tie Car­vel (LES MISERABLES) als Jona­than Stran­ge und Eddie Mar­san (SHERLOCK HOLMES) als Gil­bert Norrell.

In der sie­ben­tei­li­gen Serie spie­len wei­ter­hin:  Ali­ce Eng­lert (Beau­tiful Crea­tures), Marc War­ren (The Mus­ke­teers, Wan­ted), and Char­lot­te Riley (Edge of Tomor­row).

Die Zusam­men­fas­sung:

Set at the begin­ning of the 19th-cen­tu­ry, Eng­land no lon­ger belie­ves in prac­ti­cal magic. The reclu­si­ve Mr Nor­rell (Mar­san) of Hurt­few Abbey stuns the city of York when he cau­ses the sta­tu­es of York Cathe­dral to speak and move. With a litt­le per­sua­si­on and help from his man of busi­ness Chil­der­mass (Enzo Cilen­ti), he goes to Lon­don to help the govern­ment in the war against Napo­le­on. It is the­re Nor­rell sum­mons a fairy (War­ren) to bring Lady Pole (Eng­lert) back from the dead, ope­ning a who­le can of worms …

Einen genau­en Ter­min für den Start der Serie in 2015 gibt es noch nicht, Gerüch­ten zufol­ge könn­te das aber bereits im Janu­ar sein.
