STAR TREK BEYOND
Der Titel des nächsten STAR TREK-Kinofilms lautet nach Informationen von trekmovie.com STAR TREK BEYOND. Der Name wurde auch bereits bei der MPAA registriert, was nicht bedeutet, dass sich das nicht noch ändern könnte. Bad Robot sind für rote Heringe bekannt. Beim 13. Streifen der Reihe führt nicht J. J. Abrams Regie, sondern Justin Lin (FAST AND FURIOUS), letzteres bereitet mir etwas Sorge. Das Drehbuch stammt von Doug Jung und Simon Pegg, der auch seine Rolle als Scotty erneut aufnehmen wird. Pegg sagte, dass sie mit dem drehbuch wieder mehr zu dem zurückkehren wollen, was die alte Fernsehserie ausmachte. Gegenüber Den Of Geek äußerte er im Interview:
So for me it’s now about the spirit of adventure and exploration and also, in modern terms, just how would that be for people, to be away for that amount of time and that kind of stuff.
Dem Guardian sagte er:
And it’s a story about frontierism and adventure and optimism and fun, and that’s where we want to take it, you know. Where no man has gone before – where no one has gone before, sensibly corrected for a slighter more enlightened generation. But yeah, that’s the mood at the moment.
Als Schauspielerin neben der Hauptcrew steht bereits Sofia Boutella (KINGSMAN) fest, ebenfalls mitspielen soll Idris Elba (THOR). Pegg will Elba, der offenbar den Bösewicht geben soll, einen völlig neuen Charakter auf den Leib schreiben.
