Tad Williams´ OTHERLAND wird zur Fernsehserie

OTHERLAND ist eine Roman-Tetra­lo­gie (CITY OF GOLDEN SHADOW, RIVER OF BLUE FIRE, MOUNTAIN OF BLACK GLASS, SEA OF SILVER LIGHT) des US-ame­ri­ka­ni­schen Schrift­stel­lers Tad Wil­liams, es han­delt sich um Sci­ence Fic­tion, genau­er gesagt Cyber­punk. Die Prä­mis­se wird wie folgt beschrie­ben:

OTHERLAND is an epic cyber­punk-fan­ta­sy-adven­ture. The world as we know it has an addi­tio­nal lay­er here – hyper-rea­li­stic VR are­nas that have beco­me a new place for fun, work, edu­ca­ti­on but also debauch­ery, crime and abu­se. The mys­te­rious Other­land, sup­po­sedly ano­ther lay­er of the net­work, beco­mes a mere start­ing point for a mul­ti-realm adven­ture. Its Incep­ti­on-like mecha­nics con­tain a series of realms, some uncan­ni­ly resembling the world we know, others bizar­re clus­ters of fami­li­ar crea­ti­ons and cha­rac­ters. Among them are inter­ga­lac­tic taverns, medieval fan­ta­sies, and batt­le­grounds of World War I, to name a few.

Pro­du­ziert wird von Pla­ti­ge Image (THE WITCHER, LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS) und Mount Devil zusam­men mit Mike Weber, der war aus­füh­ren­der Pro­du­zent bei Ama­zons WHEEL OF TIME-Serie. Der­zeit ist man auf der Suche nach Autor°Innen und Showrunner°innen. Lau­fen wird das Gan­ze zu einem noch nicht näher benann­ten Zeit­punkt bei Ama­zon Video.
