In der vergangenen Nacht wurde nicht nur eine Ohrlasche verteilt, sondern auch von der Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences im Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles die 94. Academy Awards verliehen, volkstümlich als Oscars bekannt.
Das Goldmännchen für den besten Film erhielt die Apple TV+-Produktion CODA um eine Familie mit tauben Eltern. Will Smith erhielt trotz der Ohrlasche für Moderator Chris Rock (Details werden auf so vielen Webseiten beschrieben, dass ich hier nicht weiter darauf eingehen werde) den Preis als bester Schauspieler für seine Rolle in KING RICHARD. Die Auszeichnung für die beste Schauspielerin ging an Jessica Chastain für THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE.
Gute Nachrichten für Genre-Faninnen: Der große Abräumer der Oscar-Verleihungen war die Verfilmung des SF-Klassikers DUNE. Die konnte zwar keine der »großen« Kategorien abräumen, aber erhielt Oscars für »beste Filmmusik« (Hans Zimmer), »bester Ton«, »bestes Produktionsdesign«, »beste Kameraarbeit«, »bester Schnitt« und »beste visuelle Effekte«.
Anmerkenswert aus meiner Sicht noch der Preis für Billie Eilish für den besten Filmsong mit NO TIME TO DIE.
